Your question isn't silly. Soft Coated yorkies usually have alot of fur on their feet. Looks like fluffy bedroom slippers. A silk coated yorkie is cool to the touch even when the weather is warm. Soft coated yorkies feel warm to the touch. Most and I say most of the time the coat stays black and as it matures it changes to a clerical gray. The head clears to a tan. There are several books explaining this. But, you can go to YTCA.org and purchase a illustrated book on the standard. Hope I helped a little.
