It's pretty likely she will WANT to whelp on your bed, so it's up to you to be alpha dog here, and make her understand that's not where she and the puppies are going to live. I have whelped on a bed, and a couch before, because it was easier for me than getting in the floor, LOTS OF POTTY PADS to protect, LOL.. anyways, after the whelping, mommy and babies went to their set up whelping area.. a Zippy type enclosure is good for mommies who don't want to stay in their whelping boxes...or a puppy play pen that they can't escape from. One thing to do is go ahead and set it up about a week or so prior, so she can get used to the fact that that is where she's going to be.

I will have a welping box set up for Roxi; however, since she sleeps in our bed do you think she will try to welp there? Anyone out there have dogs that sleep in their bed that have had pups? |
