My animals get a rabies shot once every three years only, and the older ones not at all. I lost my 14 year old Beagle, Cinnamon Twist, CD four years ago; she reacted badly to a rabies shot and died three weeks to the day. At the time, two different vets were involved, but later we found the shot was the cause.

Note: if your dog reacts to any shot, let the veterinarian know immediately, of course, but also, contact the company. They want to know of problems, and will often cover all medical expenses for the dog.
