Chewy is 4 months old... He only goes outside so here is how I did it. I bought a baby play yard...(The kind that has no bottom) and I put it outside and put rocks on the ground so he wouldn't get all dirty every time we went out. He KNOWS this is his potty. He holds it in on walks and when we go out anywhere.. he has held it in up to 8 hours!!!! I was really worried about it and talked to the vet but she said it's ok he will go when he has to! Anyway Chewy has not had an accident in about 5 days now!!!! (SO COOL!) I owe this way of potty trainig to my very wonderful friend who has a yorkie and told me what she did. before this I was going crazy trying to walk Chewy and get him to go... I was going crazy and thought he would never get it. My hubby is going to build a roof over the potty area so he doesn't get wet in rain and the snow when it comes doesn't fill in his area! (My hubby's a builder!) I'm not sure if this helps you having an apartment but maybe you could do something like it inside till your baby gets the idea. Chewy goes on demand now when ever he is put in his spot... He just goes... even if it's just a tiny bit. Works like a charm for me. Hope this helps anyone who is struggling.
