Hopefully, she isn't pregnant this young, but a 5 1/2 month old male is capable of producing puppies (but even if they are AKC they won't be eligible for registration due to both of their ages).
If I was going to make a bet. I would bet she wasn't pregnant since most "studs" that young don't know what to do, but he could have gotten lucky. Swelling is normal during the heat cycle and she could even be having a false pregnancy. Your vet should be able to tell by feeling around 28 days pregnant. A pregnancy at this age would be risky and she might not take care of the pups even if all goes well to that point. You might want to consider having her spayed immediately. I know my vet will perform a spay during pregnancy in a situation like this. |
