I just spoke to a Michigan State Trooper and he said in Michigan, when something like this is reported, the animals are taken, with or without owners permission and the owners are prosecuted. Most times they do not serve jail time, although the arresting officers would like to see that but he states they usually get off after court with a hefty fine but are not allowed to own another animal anytime in the near future. |
