My husband used to hunt and fish all the time when we were first married and the girls were young. I didn't mind too much when he would leave really early in the morning and come back early (before noon) but he started going with my cousins husband all the time and they would be gone all day. I was left alone all day on the weekends and I didn't like it. One Saturday he left early in the morning and didn't get home until 5:00 PM. I went in, put my makeup on, fixed my hair, and put on a knockout new dress I had just bought. He of course said really snotty: "Where do you think you're going" I told him he had been gone for 12 hours leaving me home alone with 2 small children, so now it was my turn. I was leaving for 12 hours and he could stay home with the kids. When he asked me where I was going, I told him I didn't know for sure. I might go shopping, or to a movie, or to the library or go visit his mother, to a bar for a few drinks. I was going to play it by ear. After all, I had 12 hours to kill. Since he was extremely jealous, needless to say, he practically begged me not to go and said he would change his ways. He did.
Now that he is retired and we have 24 hour togetherness, except when I'm at work, I wish he had some hobbies that kept him away from home. I love him dearly but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.
He loves the furbabies as much as I do. They are so much company for him when I am gone. The other day he said he wished we could get another Yorkie but 4 dogs would be too many.
