If you respect this trainer, then I would go for it...take her advice. Just try it at least. Maybe get a nice wire crate and set it up all nice for Royce and make him sleep in it at night and put him in there when you leave during the day. But because you work and you are gone during the day, you need to make an extra effort to give him a lot of exercise in the mornings before you leave for work and lots of exercise when you get home before you put him in his crate at night for bed. I would suggest taking him on 2-3 walks a day. One in the morning before work, one right when you get home from work, and one right before you go to bed. You will be SO surprised how well this will work for his anxiety. A large part of the problem could be that he is just not getting enough exercise.
