Lola just had this problem too. When we first got her, they checked her ears and she had ear mites, but they were all dead. The vet told us that meant that the person who sold her to us had already treated them. We treated her again to make sure she was rid of all of them. She started scratching them again a few weeks ago. She also had little sores in her ears from scratching so hard. Took her to the vet and they said it wasn't mites. They shaved her ears and gave us some ointment to put in her ears. They also gave her a steroid shot to stop the itching. We had her allergy tested because she is always scratching at one time or another. We are still waiting for the results. Good luck with your search on whats wrong with your little one.
