Default Really bummed.

I am soo bummed to tell you this and everyone else. I took my little baby boy to the vet as soon as possible and when we arrived he was not doing so well. As the vet ( another guy-who I have seen yrs ago and is more knowlegeable) took a quick look and said his belly is infected. His chances were slim to none. As we quickly discussed the options, it was apparrent that not much more could be done. The vet noted at this point the little boy was already fading and that he really wouldn't make it.....I made the tearful desicion of putting him out of his misery since the vet told me he could go on like this for more hrs and slowly fade. I thought that was terrible way to go.

I am upset with the emergency vet last night who told me it was fine that his belly bled a little and just to put pressure on it and that puppies are pretty resilient. ( I knew this wasn't really the case for small dogs) Then I called this morning to my vet office and the other lady vet relayed a message to me that a little bleeding/blood was nothing to worry about and to start bottle feeding if they aren't nursing...My other question. When I went to the vet office this morning because little boy was just not doing well. The vet said there was nothing i could have really done and that it happened because lucy chewed the cord to close. I wish I didn't turn around to get my scissors to cut the cord and wait a min to see if the placenta was going to come out with the little boy....by that minute she decided to chew the cord off.

I feel terrible and bummed now but my only concern is for the little girl and mama. I have syringe fed 1/2 cc the little girl as soon as I got home since she just wouldn't latch on to mama's teat again, even with my help. She only did it once. Oh wait just helped her again and she latched! Yes!

Thank you Feminvstr for being available for advice and backing up my suspicion that the little boy did need to go to the vet asap.
Poor Lucy I brought the dead baby back to her and she really wanted it,and licked it etc..then looked for him when I took him away a couple mins later.

My heart is broken and I did the best I could so please be kind.
Thanks all.
