and just a quick note....I've been lucky with having moms that are very vigorously involved with cord removal immediately on presentation...If it takes them more than a half a minute or so to chew through the cord at the pup (while you are holding it)..cut/shred the cord yourself and get that pup aspirated and BREATHING. If a pup is stuck or breech during delivery..don't wait for mom's help...clamp/cut and get them breathing asap.
