Did anyone catch the Primetime Live special last week about people who kept exotic pets? They talked about this guy who was obsessed with living among grizzly bears and he wound up getting mauled to death by one. In that same special there was a couple who adopted a baby chimp and raised him as their son. I don't know what happened but one day he got out of the house and went crazy in the neighborhood. The police had to come and the neighbors sued them. They were forced to send the chimp away to this place that cares for retired showbiz monkey actors. One day they went out to visit the chimp and the husband was attacked by the other chimps that were in the cage with their monkey. I think they tried to tear his face off. Experts said that chimpanzees, although cute and small when they are babies, become increasingly powerful and violent as they mature and that people need to remember that these are not fuzzy, cute, little creatures but rather wild animals that should be in the wild. I absolutely LOVE monkeys but I think I'll stick with yorkies.
