That means I gave him a treat for a little paw raise at first, then only for a higher one until he got it. My husband tried to make an animated gif out of it, but it's really small and dark. I put it up as my avatar.

It's so cute because he offers it now as his "can i have a treat" trick. That used to be roll over. It's the latest trick that gets him the most amount of praise and most likely to get a treat. So now he'll sit by me and start waving, like "Hi over here your favorite dog give me a treat please!"

He also learned "kiss" using target. I lean over and say "kiss" and he will come running for my face. But I didn't want a french kiss so I just taught him to bop his nose to mine
The picture of Loki waving in your avatar is adorable!!!
