Default breeder

As a long time breeder and in the exact same circumstances...I would replace the pup free of charge. The pup died because of carelessness.. not using a carrier is careless..the owner can do as they please..but the professional can not.
The law states we have to use reasonable care in the cases..trying to carry a wiggly puppy is not resasonable, but a judge may not see it my way..I never really care what a judge says, if I feel something is ethcially wrong, then fix it. I have heard so many breeders draw up contract that say a pup must be returned in order to get a refund in the case of a genetic problem...that is just plain cruel..and clever, the breeder knows the pet owner will raerly give back their companion to get the money., so they a home free.

If a dog in my care jumped off a chair and broke a leg, that would not be my fault..that is a common accident that happens, but if I leave it on the grooming table, walk away, go into another room, it falls off, it is my fault.
