Hubby just needs to go to school. I am considering selling one of the cars because (1) we haven't used the darn thing for so long that it's batteries have died and we didn't even realize, (2) we need to pay car insurance in september (we always pay 6 mos. upfront), and I really don't feel like paying 300 dollars to get it insured so the car can sit and look pretty in the parking lot.
But, then I think to myself, eventually we are both going to be driving. Maybe a year from now, but we will. The one I am considering selling is a 1999 car, it works fine, but it is getting older and older. I just can't decide if it is better to get a new car in the future when we both need to drive.
Sorry for the long long message, but the end question is this: are there any couples out there that do fine with one car? should I sell one of the cars even though we might need it a year later? I welcome any and all opinions. Thank you!
You can get insurance for your car with just being parked at your driveway . . should be minimal. It only covers theft so that is not much, assuming you wish to keep it. Check with your insurance. We have 4 cars and it is just my hubby and I as my daughter is off to college. 2 to drive during the warm weather months and 2 that cannot be used during winter. So we have such an insurance . . . hope this helps you decide on what to do with your spare car.
