Thats exactly what Luig does, except he won't go on the floor. I usually make him stay in whatver room we are in, but lately I have let him waunder. If he doesn't come back to me soon, I usually go peek on him to see where he is. And a few times he's sitting by the door--- just waiting. Sooo cute.

So I guess my advise would be to just keep a closer eye on him or try keeping him in the same room with you as much as possible til you get to know when he has to go. I pretty much know when he has to go-- he is on a schedule now.
