I think that if everyone made a conscious effort to go back and re-read their post BEFORE they hit that submit button, that a lot of this unnecessary rudeness (or what might be perceived as rudeness) would go away. There have been MANY MANY occasions when I have gone back and reread my reply before submitting and have seen something that might be misconstrued. In these instances I have gone back and changed what I've said and added a smiley or something so nothing is taken the wrong way. There have also been times when I've posted something so quickly and then I go back and realize that what I've just posted might be rude and then I wish I could just totally delete my post. Whenever I do this, I make a conscious effort to apologize to the person whom I've potentially offended. |
