Kimberly, if the breeder gets a pick puppy back - then I think it is only far that we agree upon the male (stud), since she is really involved due to the puppy she would be getting. Then I would say okay. If no puppy is involved - then I feel like you - my decision. But I would choose carefully and well educated to make the best match I could to help improve the standards. Since I want the pups to be as best as they can be.
I always give a contract with all my pups. It is best when dealing with money and a little life that all is in agreement and everything spelled out. Nothing can be hiden as far as I know.
