Little dogs tend to act out because they often times aren't socialized correctly. I love my Harley but I do realize that he can get nasty and that he can bite. And he has in the past but because his little mouth is so weenie and his muscles aren't very strong his bites are concieved as harmelss and sometimes people even find them funny and laugh them off. And it is because of this that owners are less likely to properly correct thier little ones because their aggression is often times viewed as cute or funny. I am the first to admit that my little dog used to get away with more (bad behavior) than any of my other dogs. Because he is small and it's hard to know how to properly correct his bad behavior. This is usually why little dog owners tend to let a lot of their dogs poor behavior slide by. But if one of my big dogs bit or faught someone or another dog it could mean their death because they are bigger and therefore have the ability to do more damage. Yes, pitbull attacks are more publicized and more commonly reported to police. Because who is going to try and press charges for a chi or pom pom attack? All dogs have the same mental and emotional capabilities to be aggressive, teritorial, possessive, pushy and snappy but not all have the same physical capabilities to fullfill their instincts. I hope I don't get my head ripped off for this one but I had to say what I feel. I have known dozens of pitbulls and large breeds in my life and none of them have had aggression problems and that's because they have been properly socialized, have had set boundaries and good consistant training. Remember, pit fighting is a huge problem in the US and especially in my county. Pits are raised to be this way for fighting or as their owners 'bully accessories'. People are cruel, not dogs. You always have to remember to sit back and realize that you must judge the deed, not the breed because that aggression started somewhere.. The owner. | Good post
