I have been grooming our oldest (3yr) old yorkie's hair for some time now. She has an extremely thick cottony coat. I do it over a period of days also, so it doesn't seem like such a chore. One day I will do the bath and the ears, say, and maybe the next the body, or the head and face. It seems to be less traumatic on all of us. I came accross a website that had the cutest clothes and the most interesting haircuts on small dogs that I have seen. I have been trying to copy the one with the body having short hair and letting the hair be longer from the knee down to resemble boots. Its really kinda cute on her, and I have left her head and face long to show what thick hair she has. When you groom yourself there are really many more options to explore than just the typical long style or the short puppy cut. |
