I don't blame you a bit for being upset! That lady should NOT have brought her large puppies in with the small dogs. I don't think your dog should have been punished for being scared and reacting as he did. As far as socializing yorkies with big dogs, I don't see why they should be. Maddie was attacked once by a large dog whose owner said his dog would never hurt a flea. Maddie was traumatized over that and to this day, she is very cautious meeting even little dogs. It scared her and she remembers. A huge yelllow lab jumped our fence one night to get Maddie and thank goodness I was able to keep him away from her. He was after her and it wasn't to play! I don't care what kind of big dog it is...I don't let Maddie be around them and will never take a chance again. All it could take is one bite and she could be dead...or they could step on them and break their backs. Maddie has plenty of little puppy friends and I don't think she feels denied by not socializing with big dogs. I don't dislike big dogs...I just don't trust them around my yorkie. As far as coddling...I do and will continue to do so! I pick her up and protect her from big dogs. I'm not about to second guess what those dogs have in mind and I always hear, "My dog wouldn't hurt your yorkie." Yeah...that's what the guy told me whose dog did attack Maddie and that's what the owner to the yellow lab that jumped my fence to go after Maddie said.

You and Tripp were NOT in the wrong at the dog park...the other dog owner WAS! Tripp was scared and reacted as any scared dog would!
