Oooo! Oooo! I get the rare opportunity to totally disagree with Red!

I JUST posted a question in gen. chat about Kiki's coat. She is almost five months old, and I HAD to shave her....her hair wasn't just thick/cottony, it was CURLY, and I just couldn't even get a comb through her anymore.

It was traumatic losing all her black puppy curls , but the graying roots of the new hair coming in is SO much softer and easier to brush.

They say their hair does go through several different stages, during the first couple of years. So I see what Red is saying...cutting it won't MAKE it silkier....but sometimes (depending on your dog) cutting off the fuzzy puppy ends does REVEAL the silkier hair coming in, better.
