Wow, I just read your story. Don't feel bad about not giving them reward money. I think that is what they wanted the whole time, either that or to sell her. People today make me so sick. I could never live with myself if I did that to anyone. Those people all made the wrong choices. They didn't post signs up, they didn't call shelters, they didn't even knock door to door. You can't just give something away that isn't your's.
I think everyone will be hugging their dogs a little closer tonight thanks to your story. Thank god Josie is home safe. You're so lucky you got her back. Technically they could have tried to fight you for ownership since she's not microchipped. If there was any debate on it you would have just had the police take her to get scanned. It's much easier than trying to prove it with paperwork which takes much more time if she is papered. I don't know what I would have done in your situation. I would have definately cried and screamed after hearing her little barks inside that garage. I do agree with you, those people were all about the money. That girl not wanting to give Josie back makes me sick. I can't believe she gave you such a hard time. I'm so sorry for the hell you've been through. Thank god for this happy ending.
