when I got Cali last year,, it was the first time I ever had 2 dogs at the same time and Maya was 8 years old and a cranky territorial Pomeranian. I just gave her extra treats and since Cali needed to be fed more often, I split Maya's food up into how ever many feedings Cali was getting, because I felt so bad feeding the new one and not her. I even bought them the same toys even though Maya hasn't played with toys in years. I still say hello to Maya first whenever I come home. They have their little arguements but they lay togther now and seem to miss each other when one is gone. Just give it time they will be good friends soon. |
