Socialization is very important for dogs, it can turn to a real problem. My neighbor's yorkie can't be around other dogs becuase he gets so nervous he pees on himself. Since you live in NYC like me I take my Nyx to Petco for those classes and they start real late 7pm. If classes are not convenient join one of the many meet-ups. Don't worry about the bigger dogs too much Nyx is only 1lb 7oz and she plays with the 23, 30 even 70lbs dogs like nothing. It's funny she has no fear of dogs or other people.
