Ok..now on a more optimist note..yes,you may have to help them,espcailly if they are new at it My vet showed me how to do this (Im doing my homework right now in order to breed my yorkie at the end of the summer) and its not that complicated,once they tie,you can let them go.Also,sometimes you have to "guide" the male,which sounds gross but in some cases (expecially if the male is alot smaller) it has to be done.If your yorkies are similar in size,let them try a few times..they will get it.After all,its not as if us humans invented breeding,dogs have been doing this alone forever! lol.
Would your vet explain how this is done if you asked him too? My vet was kind enough to show me (with Jess) and he didnt mind at all Do you have a mentor? Someone who can help you through the whole thing? It seems alot easier if you can pick up the phone and ask someone what or what not to do I wish you luck!! How exiting!!!
