I think it is contagious until its completely gone. It does definately need to be treated. My daughter got it on her scalp a few years ago & the doctor told us to use lotrimin (sp?). It went away, but came back like a week later & worse. At that point, the doctor actually prescribed a medicine that was taken by mouth. My poor little girl had a bald spot about the size of a quarter just behind her ear. The hair grew back, but even years later you can tell that the hair is a little thinner in that spot. |
