Piper had coccidia when we got her also, along with giardia. Yes, coccidia is contagious. The Vet told me to wash after cleaning up after her. She said because if I was to get some under a nail & then later bite my nails, I could get it. Grossed me out, 1st of all I am always washing my hands, & I don't bite my nails. Or if Misha stepped in it & licked her paws afterwards same thing. Neither of us got it. Took 3 weeks to get rid of everything. |
