Tonsillitis is something else to watch for. They don't stop coughing when they have that though. This is something that is sometimes brought on by prolonged cold air, such as air conditioning or hanging their heads out of car windows when the temperature is too cool. They can also get upper respiratory infections, too. It can also just be allergies, especially this time of year. A little benedryl will usually take care of that.
