I just got my new baby on Saturday and have been putting her in the bathroom with a baby gate in front of it. She cries when I leave, but today when I came home there was blood everywhere. She had clawed at the gate so much she cut her paws. 2 of them had completely raw spots. I knew she was hurting because she just wasn't acting like herself. I have an appointment with vet tomorrow, but I was wondering what I should do. I don't want her to get hurt again, but she's not potty trained yet. I feel so awful. What should I clean her feet with? I don't want her to get an infection! Any suggestions on how to prevent this and how I should treat her feet?
