In the short run, you can give him a bath in Dawn dishwashing soap to kill the fleas - just be sure to rinse him thoroughly because it will dry out his skin if you don't.
Do you have your own yard? If so, you can use beneficial nematodes to kill the fleas in the yard. Nematodes are microscopic organisms that eat flea eggs (and fire ant and grub eggs). It is natural and completely harmless to the babies. It won't keep your baby from getting an occasional flea from walks - but I've used nematodes for years and rarely have to use advantage or anything like that - unless we travel.
