I don't know where in CA you are, but when I lived in San Diego, we had FLEAS galore!! The vet suggested I try "Program". It worked great. Where I live now, we don't have the flea problem. All we have here are sand fleas and they don't stay on the dogs like regular fleas do. I never had any luck with the over-the-counter things they have. Good luck!!
