I think the woman with the big dogs was at fault. This is why I've quit going to our dog park.

We have doggie playtime in our back yard once a week instead.

While I agree that small dogs need to socialize with big dogs, you need to be able to choose the big dogs wisely. By bringing her big dogs (even if they were puppies) into the small dog area, she wasn't giving you the right to choose.

Just like I didn't choose to have Ginger picked up and carried around by her harness by a big dog who shouldn't have been there. It can take MONTHS to get these little guys over an experience with a big dog who's "just being playful".

Don't sweat it. Just look for other (and safer) opportunities for your little ones to socialize. Or leave the dog park immediately if there is anything you don't like.

P.S. Ginger does have big dog friends.
