 Baxter doesn't eat well!
Hi All,
I need some advice on my 12 week old Baxter. He just doesn't like dog food! I have tried brand after brand ( wet and dry ) to entice him to eat. He will eat a few kibbles of Science Diet puppy, but he thinks they are toys and has to play with them first! I can only get him to eat about 4 or 5 kibbles. We had a bad round with Coccidia & Hypoglycemia when he was 8 weeks old and almost died. During that time I wanted to get him to eat anything. I discovered he loved cooked, crumbled hamburger. He will eat that like there is no tomorrow, I don't have a problem with that, but I know it is not all that healthy for him. He seems to be extremely healthy and chubby at the present time, so today, I decided I was only going to give him his dog food. So far he has only eaten a few small bites and that was off my finger. What should I do? I don't want him to starve or get hypoglycemia again, but I have to get him eating the right food! I think I am going to give him some Nutrical before bed and wait to see if he eats in the morning. I could sure use some advice from someone on this issue! How has anyone out there dealt with this problem? Would it be Ok to feed him only cooked meats? ie: chicken, beef, etc?
