Roots on baby teeth can be very long and hard to extract and sometimes even have to be dug out. They really do need to be put under. I had K.C.'s baby teeth pulled, five if I remember right and he had no problems and really didn't seem affected by it at all. He was 10 months and 3 pounds 14 oz.
Just pay the extra for the pre-anesthesia blood work to make sure there are no problems. Also, make sure the vet is familiar with toy breeds and uses a safe anesthesia like isoflurane and does not give a preinjection barbituate.
I would also recommend you have the spay at the same time so you only have to risk anesthesia once, if you are not going to breed her (she may even be too small to breed). |
