I think I can answer this...
First let me say that NuVet is a good supplement. But what you are experiencing with your breeder is becoming very common other than the "requirement" to keep your dog on it. What is happening is NuVet company contacts as many breeders as they can find. They send out free samples of the vitamin for them to give to new owners because every sale that is made through them with their code number, they get a commission. I was contacted by one of their employees once, and I let him talk me into this at first. I did "ok" with the vitamin sales, but realized that if your pet is on a high quality food, there is no need to supplement unless there is a specific health problem you are trying to cover. Like I said, it is a good vitamin IMO, but no one can tell you what you "must" give your pet for the rest of it's life once it is yours.
