Innova Evo is WAY too high in protein content for these little dogs. Dog foods with high protein are meant for outside dogs or dogs that have a lot of energy and get lots of exercise. I am not sure of the protein content in Royal Canine, but if it is over the recommended amount in the thread listed above, then it probably has too much protein.
On Ceasers, I have EXTREMELY picky eaters. I tried 6 or 7 dry dog foods before I found one they liked (which ended up being Chicken Soup). In the mornings I feed 1 tsp of wet food mixed with their dry food and leave dry food out the rest of the day. I fed Ceasers for about a week, mainly bc it was convenient to buy and it came in cute little packages Then I read the ingredients on there and I would just rather my yorkies eat something more healthy. I mean, I have invested a lot of time and money in these little babies and I just want to give them the best thing for their health as possible. I switched my doggies to Blue Buffalo canned food. They absolutely LOVE it and it is ALL NATURAL! You can actually see the chunks of vegetables in there. AND the best part is, you can actually get it at PETsMART!!! YAY! If my picky eaters like it, I am sure ANY yorkie will like it. |
Thank God For your post!!!!!!!! I have been feeding my 3 year old yorkie 1/2 a pack of the Cesars!!! During the day I leave canidae out so she and the puppy can eat whenever they are hungry. I give baby 1/2 of the Cesars in the mornings. I have never had a problem with her stools, eyes, skin or coat, BUT I don't want to give her food that is not good for her! I think I will slowly wean her off and put her on the blue buffalo wet. Its a treat to have the wet and I want to continue that! Thank you for the blue buffalo tip!! I hope that I haven't hurt her . I never knew!! I told my vet she was picky and he told me about cesars!!
