My little Holly--3 1/2lbs-sleeps with me too and a large cat! When she was spayed, I carefully lifted her up on the bed on her blanket and she slept well.She usually cries in the morning when she needs out,so I just carried her outside and didn't expect her to get up and down on the bed by herself for a few days. During the day she slept in her basket or on my knee as usual.
She recovered really well,but expect a couple of sleepy days.Get organised with a collar incase she tries to bite the stitches. Good luck.
