Number one Rae Rae, spanking and not hurting is an oxymoron...the very nature of spanking should allegedly administer enough "pain" and fear to act as a negative deterent to unwanted behavior. Otherwise...you would blow a feather over his head as a distraction. What is not addressed is the long term behavorial fall-out from the use of this type of training, which has been well documented in the last 25 years.
Number two, physical punishment and its impact on the emotional and physical health of our Yorkies is EVERYONE'S concern here on Our Yorkies.
A "Belief" system is not as simple as stating you like Apples or Oranges. The myriad of helpful training books, Videos, and personal experiences from many of the experienced breeders and members here, gives ample opportunity for those willing to learn how to be knowledgable, and humane caregivers and trainers for the pets that have become part of our family.
