I do think it is funny that Yorkies (and any small dog) for that matter, have gotten the reputation for being "hyper" or "yappers". I think it really depends on the dog itself, how it has been raised, the family environment, etc.
My Honey has her moments of high energy but I think that is true for any dog. She spends just as much time lazing around like a total bum! We have to spend a lot of time "defending" her to people who have never been around Yorkies and just think they are ankle-biters and barking at every little thing all day long.
One thing is for sure, I have had all different kids of dogs my whole life and you will never have another dog that will infuriate the crap out of you and have you wrapped around their little paw at the same time as much as you will with a Yorkie.
They have such a personality, it really is like having another person in the house! Some dogs are pets, Yorkies are part of the family. |
