What company do you use? This is great advise. We don't realize how much care for our pets can cost. I found this out recently with our neighbors' dog. We were taking care of her (11 yr old Sheperd) while they were on vacation. The dog had been recently diagnosed with a serious illness and they didn't want to kennel her so we were giving her her meds and taking her to Vet appointments etc...(hubby is a Vet. Tech. thank goodness!). Anyway, the dog wouldn't get up one evening when I went to let her out and we had to take her to the emergecy clinic. She was going to need a blood transfusion and for 2 units of blood, fludids and general care the owners were looking at at least $1200.00 in expenses! That was an eye opener for me so I would be interested in pet insurance. |
