I agree with you. People are so irresponsible. My sister runs a rescue and they constantly call her asking her to take thier pets. She has to explain to them that's not really what she does, she's concerened about the ones dying in the shelter and getting those out. They ONLY time she will take them is if she knows they won't be in her foster care long or if it's someone dropping off an unwanted she makes a deal with them to get the pet fixed. Just last week some lady dropped off 2 mixed breed puppies, the lady said that she couldn't "afford" to get her dog fixed. So my sister offered to take the dog to do it for free and give it back.
Animals shouldn't have to suffer through having litters all the time or too young just because humans are irresponsible. I am really starting to dislike Craigslist because there are SO MANY people dumping off animals, esspecially kittens for free to whoever replies. Of course the animals are usually less than 8 weeks old and have never seen a vet or had any shots. |
