Those are the cold hard facts.
I don't think iit is done any more. Now they would just spay/neuter and sell them as pets.
But breeders in the past wsould not want anyone to know thst their champion dog had sired a puppy that didn't meet with the standards. It would have severly damaged the reputation of their kennel.
