A crate is a " den" ,a sheltered and secured place your puppy can call her own.Dogs typically will not soil their space. However, there are exceptions to this rule.As suggested earlier, try giving her a
bit of treat for going in(no, it won't make her poop,) and if she stays for a while without whining(do it gradually though, a little more each time) reward her again for being good before you let her out. With time she will learn how to "hold it" and she won't potty in the crate.Hailey only had one accident in the crate but it was my fault because I ignored her crying one night and she had to go potty. Now she can "hold it" for up to 7 hours(that's the longest time i was away from home) and she's a little over 5 months old! When i am out of the house, i always try to not live her in there for too long, she's my

thought!!!!! Also, very important...........Never use the crate as punishment. It should be a happy place for her.Good luck
