When I'm home, I slap a belly band on him and let him have run of the house.... which he loves of course.

He's 10 months old now - and, strangely he almost never wet in the kitchen while I'm gone --sometimes 7 hours. But he will pee when he has run of the house. But, with age, even this has become much less - and almost never if I get him outside every two or three hours. I notice also that (while wearing a belling band), he almost never wets during the night anymore - as long as 8 or 9 hours. So - he's coming along.

BUT - again. if I penned him up while I was home, he would be crying his head off.

And - 80% of the time when I'm home, he just follows me around the house and settles down beside me wherever I am and naps by my feet. He does get outside four or five times a day for half an hour or so - and plays and runs his little legs off visiting with everyone.

Good luck. I have no clue how you can keep your little pup from crying while being penned up when you're home. He obviously hates it and wants to be with you.

Thanks for the tips. I am going to take his measurements today and get him a belly band. I think that will help solve some of the problems.

I'm not sure how others are able to keep their pup penned up while they are home. I'm not having much luck with that.
