Hi Donna- I'm neither a camper nor a crater so I can't help you out there. But I wanted to welcome you and Little Bit to YT!!!!
If you camp regularly, an X-pen is a great idea for outside time. There are lots of places that sell them - I got mine on Ebay for $20!! With your baby being tiny, an X-pen would be really good. See about a car seat for the driving portion (check out the Snoozer Lookout Console Seat). A good car seat is a safe way to travel with your little one.
