Do you bathe your cat at all? I usually start giving mine baths in the summer just to get all that hair off. We really get a lot off in the tub. I also got a zoom groom for one of my dogs and was so anxious to try it so I used it on the cat and it worked great. You can use it during bath time, while you are shampooing use this to scrub the cat. We have two cats one long hair that sheds in clumps and it didn't work so well on him but the other who sheds hair every where and not in convenient clumps that you can pick up it worked great on. It might be worth a try. Oh I haven't tried it on a dry cat so I don't know how it works then. Here it is, we got the dog one but they are the same, maybe just a different size.
