Well, anyway i belive in every breed there are very smart individuals and very stuped as well.
best example is my airdale terrier.
We got airdalle because we heard from many people they are the smartiest dogs (and i saw many of them...it was unviliblle how smart they are).
But oiur girl isnot intelegent at all

poor thing, but I have a Maltese and a Poodle..and they do things on their own without me telling them to. I love how they clean up after themselves. My Maltese has taught herself how to open the door! So saying that Malts are dumb..I think it's BS.
