I had the same kind of fear before I had mine done. we made it through the first heat. (like to have drove me to drink!) and almost made it thru the second heat. we had 4 beautiful puppies out of that mistake. They have all been spayed and neutered as of yesterday the last one was done. I don't want to go thru that again. (the heat cycles I mean). they all did fine and actually improved Buckeye's attitude. He acts younger. I am glad we had them all done.
I am sure yours will do just fine. I know it is a worry but it really is better to get it done. Good luck.
