The CKC can also stand for the Continental Kennel Club, which has broader standards than the AKC. Typically the AKC standards are stricter, and that is what I prefer. I have also heard some pretty nasty things about other registries, but I won't voice them here. Everyone has a different opinion. And if you're not breeding, it really doesn't matter too much.
